Meet Jaime Arroyo

Jaime Arroyo is a dedicated leader who fights for positive change and progress in the community. As a member of City Council and the CEO of ASSETS, a nonprofit that helps women and BIPOC entrepreneurs, Jaime is passionate about making sure everyone has equal opportunities. His journey shows his determination, resilience, and commitment to serving others.

Originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Jaime moved with his family to Lancaster when he was a toddler, where they settled in the southeast neighborhood. He graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School and became the first in his family to earn a college degree, finishing with a degree in Business Administration from Millersville University. His professional career started at Fulton Financial Corporation, where he helped clients reach their financial goals. During this time, he also started his own real estate business, providing affordable housing to residents of Lancaster City.

Jaime’s passion for learning led him to pursue an MBA from Drexel University, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Under his leadership, ASSETS became one of Pennsylvania’s top micro-lenders, while also promoting responsible business practices in Lancaster.

Jaime’s skills cover strategic planning, leadership development, and promoting fairness and inclusion. As Chief Strategy Officer for the Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County, he strengthened his commitment to fighting poverty and supporting economic growth.

As head of the City Council’s Economic Development Committee, Jaime led key initiatives, including the COVID-19 Small Business Relief Fund and important updates to housing laws related to lead poisoning and rental property standards. He also played a major role in directing $15 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to support affordable housing and community services, showing his dedication to lifting up the community.

Outside of his work, Jaime finds joy and inspiration in his family. He is married to Linette, a Registered Nurse at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute, and they live in northeast Lancaster City, raising their young son, Miles. Jaime is driven by the desire to create a city where everyone can thrive, focusing not only on righting past wrongs but also on building a better future for his son and future generations.

Jaime embodies strong leadership, hope, and resilience, believing in the power of a united community. His vision for Lancaster City is one of inclusiveness, prosperity, and opportunity, reflecting the promise of the American dream.
