LANCASTER, Pa., May 20, 2025 – Jaime Arroyo has secured the Democratic nomination for Mayor of Lancaster after a landslide victory in today’s primary election, receiving 83.87% of the vote. Arroyo will advance to the general election in November to become Lancaster city’s next mayor.

“Lancaster City is not done. We have so much more potential, so much more opportunity, and I’m looking forward to working with every single resident of this amazing city to make that a reality,” Arroyo said to supporters during a celebration at Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse this evening.

Leading up to the primary, Arroyo shared his plans of building a Lancaster city where everyone can thrive. This vision resonated with voters across the city.

His vision for a stronger Lancaster City includes:

  • An Economy That Works: Driving equitable growth, empowering small businesses, and creating opportunities that strengthen the community.
  • Government That Delivers: Leading with integrity, accountability, and action to meet residents’ needs and build trust in the city’s future.
  • A City Built for Everyone: Ensuring safe streets, quality housing, and a community where every person has the tools they need to succeed.

Arroyo’s platform emphasizes specific, actionable goals like updating zoning laws to allow for more types of housing, streamlining the land development process to spur more housing development, holding quarterly town halls with residents, and establishing a Youth Advisory Council to engage young people in Lancaster city.
